Upgrading a joomla installation

  • Prepare the sandbox
  • Find the appropriate joomla upgrade patch
  • Apply the patch
  • Test
  • DON'T commit the changes to the svn repo from this working directory. We want to apply the patch on the live site and let rsync mirror the changes when the cron job runs and then we will commit from the website_versioned (the rsync target dir) directory to the svn repo.
